Vows that Wow – Sydney & Brett

Here at Wed Society, we continually receive and feature stunning weddings from across Colorado, thanks to the ever talented vendors and amazing couples who submit to us. Each month, we choose one of those weddings that is truly stunning to specially showcase.

For May, we are thrilled to feature Sydney and Brett’s gorgeous wedding at Highlands Ranch Mansion in Highlands Ranch with planning by the wonderful Jenni & Co. Events. Scroll through to discover their elegant wedding filled with lawn game whimsy and timeless class.

The Wedding

Set against the historic charm of the Highlands Ranch Mansion, the wedding unfolded on a picture-perfect Colorado day filled with sunshine and thoughtful personal details. The couple designed the celebration around an elegant palette of espresso brown and white, allowing the timeless beauty of the Mansion and its gardens to shine. Sydney wore a Watters dress from Emma & Grace Bridal, with a pearl bracelet gifted to her by her dad. Her close friend, Abbi, did her makeup, while Willow Street Beauty Lounge did hers and her bridal party’s hair. Brett’s classic look was from Ted’s Clothiers.

Beautiful florals by Newberry Bros Flowers accented the venue and the events of the day were captured by Mallory Munson Photography and Adam John Films. The couple’s signage and stationary was crafted by Branded by Bee.

Guests were welcomed to the front lawn with a relaxed garden setting by Event Rents featuring a velvet lounge, paper parasols, and croquet sets, creating a playful nod to classic lawn games and Colorado summer gatherings. The ceremony, officiated by Bryan Ratanasin, took place in the Mansion’s front garden, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by lush greenery and warm spring sunshine. Following the ceremony, cocktail hour flowed seamlessly onto the front veranda and throughout the mansion’s historic interior.

Dinner, by Encore Catering, was held al fresco on the back patio — an unforgettable setting that transformed the space into an elegant open-air reception beneath the Colorado sky. Vintage croquet balls perched on stands served as table numbers, tying in the lawn-game theme with a whimsical, refined touch.

Throughout the day, heartfelt personal elements added extraordinary meaning. The bride painted a beautiful artwork of the couple playing croquet on the Mansion lawn, which was featured on their invitations and displayed as part of the wedding décor. In another incredible gesture, the mother of the bride hand-embroidered each guest’s name onto a cloth napkin placed at their seat — a thoughtful and personal keepsake for every guest.

As dinner concluded, guests were invited inside for the dance party in a truly memorable way. A live trio of violin, saxophone, and guitar from West Star Productions began playing and led everyone from the patio to the dance floor, where they performed alongside the DJ, Dominic Rodriguez, throughout the reception, layering live music over the dance tracks and creating an electric atmosphere. Midway through the celebration, the bride surprised guests by changing into her “something blue” — an elegant light blue gown — bringing fresh excitement and a stylish moment to the evening as the dance party continued late into the night.

From the sunshine-filled garden ceremony to the lively dance party inside the mansion, every moment of the day reflected the couple’s creativity, personality, and the joy of celebrating with the people they love most.

Sydney & Brett’s Favorite Memory

The couple’s favorite wedding day memory took place the morning of their wedding. “We didn’t do a first look at the wedding, but the morning of the wedding we went for a walk and shared our vows privately. It was so special to have a few minutes to ourselves that day.”

Sydney and Brett advise couples to be aware of the time and effort it takes to plan a wedding. “People aren’t lying when they say it’s a full time job – it’s so fun and rewarding but it takes so much work!”
