We recently enjoyed the chance to sit down with Abby and talk about her story, her business, and her passion for photography.
Q: Tell us about yourself and what led you to photography.
Abby: I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. Before photography became my career, I was a competitive road cyclist and often brought my camera along to races, documenting the moments and stories unfolding around me. When COVID hit, I realized photography was more than just a hobby—it was something I truly loved. At just 16 years old, I took a leap of faith and started my photography business in the middle of the pandemic. At the time, I was planning to attend the University of Oregon to study business, but as my business continued to grow, I felt called to pursue photography full-time instead. What drives me most is the belief that every person’s story deserves to be told authentically. Photography allows me to preserve meaningful moments and create images that reflect who people truly are. I’m passionate about ensuring every client feels seen, valued, and celebrated throughout their experience. Weddings hold a special place in my heart because they are such a personal and hands-on experience. From the initial inquiry to the final gallery delivery, I work closely with my couples every step of the way. Along the journey, we build genuine relationships, and many of my clients become lifelong friends. That’s one of the greatest privileges of what I do.

Q: What inspires you about photographing weddings?
Abby: What inspires me most is that every wedding and every couple has a unique story to tell. No two wedding days are ever the same, and I love the creative challenge of documenting each celebration in a way that feels authentic to the couple. Every detail, relationship, and moment is personal, which allows me to approach each wedding with a fresh perspective. One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is the opportunity to build genuine relationships with my couples. It’s also incredibly rewarding to stay connected long after the wedding day. I love seeing my couples grow together and having the opportunity to document new chapters in their lives, whether that’s anniversaries, maternity sessions, or family photos. Being trusted to preserve those milestones is one of the greatest honors of my job!

Q: How would you describe your photography style?
Abby: My style is a mix of editorial, traditional, and documentary-style photography. I’m very hands on with couples, directing posing when needed. But I also know when to take a step back and capture the candid shot, letting moments happen naturally.

Q: What is something you want couples to know about working with you?
Abby: The relationship I build with my couples is one of the most important parts of my work. When you work with me, you’re never just another client on my calendar. I genuinely want to get to know you, understand your story, and learn what matters most to you as a couple. My goal is to create an experience that feels personal, intentional, and tailored to your needs. From the moment you inquire to the day you receive your gallery, I’m there to guide you through the process, answer questions, and ensure your wedding day is documented in a way that reflects who you truly are. I love working with couples who value storytelling and want their photographs to feel authentic to their relationship. I care deeply about preserving the moments, emotions, and connections that make your story unique.

Q: What is something couples should consider when choosing their wedding photographer?
Abby: While loving a photographer’s work is important, I always encourage couples to consider the experience as a whole. Your photographer is one of the people you’ll spend the most time with on your wedding day, so it’s important to choose someone whose personality meshes well with yours and who makes you feel comfortable. You should also make sure their editing style aligns with your vision and that they’re reliable, professional, and have systems in place to protect your photos. At the end of the day, you’re not just hiring someone to take pictures, you’re investing in the experience they provide and the memories they’ll preserve for years to come.

When you work with Abby as your wedding photographer, she gives every couple a fully customizable, personal experience from the beginning.
