Vows that Wow – Mariah & Kyle

Here at Wed Society, we continually receive and feature stunning weddings from across Colorado, thanks to the ever talented vendors and amazing couples who submit to us. Each month, we choose one of those weddings that is truly stunning to specially showcase.

For September, we are thrilled to feature Mariah and Kyle’s romantic wedding at Lazy Stud Ranch in Lyons, Colorado. Scroll through to discover their romantic wedding with lush florals, live music, and sage details, all captured by Anthos House Photography and their videographer, Word of Mouth Productions.

The Wedding

Mariah and Kyle started their day getting ready separately at their venue. Mariah’s Casablanca dress from Impressed by the Dress was accessorized by jewelry from Snyder Jewelers. Her hair was done by Jaimie of Ember Salon, while Beauty and the Babes did hers and her bridal party’s makeup. Meanwhile, Kyle wore a State & Liberty Clothing suit with his ring from Thorum. Completing their looks with a beautiful bouquet and boutonnière respectively, were florals from Lace & Lilies, who did the florals for the entire event.

The couple opted for a “first touch” where they shared their private wedding vows with one another from opposite sides of a door. This special moment allowed them to share their vows between just the two of them, while also preserving the moment of seeing one another for the first time during their ceremony. Their ceremony was held outdoors along Lazy Stud Ranch’s lake under the shade of leafy trees, and was officiated by the bride’s great grandfather.

The tented reception that followed featured decor from Lazy Stud Ranch under Flexx Productions‘ tent. Lindquist Outdoor Lighting ensured the entire celebration was well lit throughout the night. Drinks were provided by Elite Bartenders of Colorado, who were one of the couple’s favorite vendors. “[They] were constantly checking on us and somehow always made sure we had a drink in our hands without us ever having to think about it,” Mariah says. Deshebrado served up a delicious dinner and dessert cups to accompany the couple’s Chantilly cake.

One of the especially exciting parts of the wedding day was the music. With both a DJ and live music throughout the night, all from Elope Music, Sal Valentinetti, Universal Sound, and Amp Champ, every moment had the perfect melody setting the scene and filling the dance floor. A photo booth from Luxe Photo Booth helped guests commemorate the celebration, and the photo booth operator, Hooman, even captured his own video of candid moments throughout the night to gift to the couple.

Mariah & Kyle’s Favorite Memory

When reflecting on their wedding day, Mariah tells us, “It’s so hard to choose just one because there are so many moments I wish I could relive, but one of my favorite memories was taking a moment away from everything and exchanging our private vows. After all of the planning, anticipation, and excitement surrounding the day, it felt like everything became quiet for a little while and it was just the two of us. Having my great-grandfather officiate our ceremony was incredibly special, as well. Being surrounded by so many people we love, on a property that means so much to our family, and having him be the one to marry us is something we’ll never forget. More than anything, my favorite memory is the feeling of the day, with the overwhelming realization that all of these people we love were gathered in one place to celebrate with us. There were so many little moments throughout the night where we looked at each other and thought, “This is actually our wedding.” I wish we could bottle that feeling and experience it all over again!”

Advice From the Couple

We asked Mariah and Kyle what advice they have for couples currently planning their own weddings. Mariah says, “One of the biggest things I learned is how important it is to have the right team of people behind you and to communicate clearly throughout the entire planning process. No matter how much you plan, little things are bound to happen or not go exactly as expected, and that’s okay. Surround yourself with vendors and people you trust, communicate what matters most to you, and when the day finally comes, just roll with it. Don’t let the little things steal your attention from what the day is actually about. Some of the imperfect, unplanned moments may even end up being part of what makes it so memorable.”
