Vows that Wow – Isabel & Clayton

Here at Wed Society, we continually receive and feature stunning weddings from across Colorado, thanks to the ever talented vendors and amazing couples who submit to us. Each month, we choose one of those weddings that is truly stunning to specially showcase.

For August, we are thrilled to feature Isabel and Clayton’s romantic wedding at Grant-Humphreys Mansion in Denver. Scroll through to discover their dreamy wedding with touches of Spain, vintage cars, and timeless charm, all captured by Cait Collins Photography.

The Wedding

Isabel and Clayton’s day started getting ready with their loved ones. Isabel wore a Rosa Clará gown with a veil from Ofrenda Studio. Her wedding day look was accessorized with a headband from Lelet, Steve Madden shoes, and a necklace from JV&V Gold Masters. Isabel incorporated pieces from her loved ones, with a pinky ring from her grandmother and bracelet from her mom. Her beautiful engagement ring was from JV&V Gold Masters, and her – and Clayton’s – wedding band was from Kay Jewelers. To complete her look, Pretty Bride by Madison did Isabel’s hair and makeup, along with her bridesmaids’ hair and makeup. Clayton wore a smart, Giorgio Armani suit, complete with an eye catching boutonniere from the couple’s wedding florist, Poppy Flowers.

Prior to their outdoor ceremony, Isabel shared a first look with her bridesmaids. The couple chose to see each other for the first time during their ceremony, and it made for a beautiful moment! Their ceremony was officiated by Gary Knutson with two readings from loved ones. Their celebration then flowed into their cocktail hour where Occasions Catering served passed apps and delicious drinks. Disposable cameras from Strap Photo Club were out for guests to document the evening from their own unique perspectives. Afterward, the wedding moved inside for a intimate dinner. In lieu of a traditional guest book, Life On Record provided an audio guest book, so guests could record personal messages for the happy couple. As a nod to Isabel having lived in Spain for the year prior to their wedding, the table numbers were all handmade ceramic tiles from Córdoba, Spain. The couple also wanted to tie in their love for travel, and chose to do so by gifting each guest or family a real postcard they had bought on their travels for their table assignments.

Isabel and Clayton snuck away with their photographer, Cait Collins Photography, for some evening portraits, which included photos with Isabel’s older brother’s mustang. When they returned, they cut the cake by TK’s Buttercream Dream Creations and Dancin’ Shoes DJ got the party started for a fun night of dancing and celebration. Isabel even changed into a whole new dress by Sachin and Babi for the dancing! At the end of the night, guests got matchbook favors from For Your Party, and transportation was provided by CharterUP. Coordination for the entire day was effortlessly done by Velvet Chaos Co.

Isabel & Clayton’s Favorite Memory

When asked what their favorite wedding day memory was, Isabel says, “They’re not joking when they say that the day flies by! While I loved every moment of our actual ceremony and reception, my favorite memory was probably at the end of the night, when our wedding party was sitting with us in our hotel suite at 1:00 am eating Taco Bell. It was a great way to end the day, and we got to debrief and just relax with our friends!”

Advice From the Couple

To couples planning their weddings, Isabel advises, “It takes a village! I am a fairly independent person, but you absolutely cannot do a wedding on your own without the support of your friends and family. I am so grateful to everyone who helped store things for me before the big day, or who went thrifting with me for glassware for the party favors, or who took home all of the decorations at the end of the night. If I had to give one piece of advice, one thing that saved me during the wedding planning process was having a separate email for all of your wedding-related correspondence, so that none of the important paperwork gets lost in your everyday inbox. It is also great for signing up for registries!”
