Vows that Wow – Gabby & Chris

Here at Wed Society, we continually receive and feature stunning weddings from across Colorado, thanks to the ever talented vendors and amazing couples who submit to us. Each month, we choose one of those weddings that is truly stunning to specially showcase.

For July, we are thrilled to feature Gabby and Chris’s literary wedding at Mountain Crust Event Venue in Denver. Scroll through to discover their romantic wedding filled with intentional moments, laughter, and a signature look that stepped right out of your favorite Jane Austen novel.

The Wedding

Gabby and Chris started their wedding day together with their dog, Phoebe, where they walked around Washington Park with coffee from their favorite spot. Back at their venue, the two got ready with their respective wedding parties. Gabby wore a gown from Vow’d Denver and Chris a suit from SuitShop. Their jewelry was from Carrie Jewelry Co along with various other Etsy shops. Jaded Beauty did Gabby and her bridal party’s hair and makeup.

The couple’s beautiful outdoor ceremony featured a circle arch embellished with pink flowers by Ash + Ether, who provided all of the amazing florals for the day, and was held on their venue’s grassy lawn. Their close friend, Daniela, officiated their wedding, and they invited different members of their community to offer blessings, values, and words of wisdom for their marriage. The two intentionally highlighted people who have known them individually, witnessed their journey together, and continue to inspire them as partners and as people.

Afterwards, Gabby and Chris did their portraits with KMM Photography who delivered on Gabby’s vision of artistic photos that had them feeling and looking like they were in a Jane Austen novel.

Their reception was started with making a pizza together with the help of Mountain Crust, who kept the celebration fun and high energy throughout the night while serving delicious food. Gabby and Chris’s friends helped to make their reception personal by bringing desserts that reflected their various traditions, cultures, and personal favorite treats.

From beginning to end, Chris and Gabby’s wedding was a true celebration of each other and the marriage they are creating together.

Gabby & Chris’s Favorite Memory

When asked what their favorite wedding day memory was, Gabby and Chris tell us, “Our primary focus was feeling grounded to ourselves and focused on each other during our day. We woke up early on our wedding day to get away from the noise with just us and our sweet dog, Phoebe. We did our usual routine of hitting up our favorite coffee shop, Wash Perk, & walking around Washington Park in Denver to ground ourselves and connect with each other. Starting our day together like this allowed us to fully immerse in the experience of the day.”

Advice From the Couple

To couples planning their weddings, Gabby and Chris say, “Wedding planning is not for the faint of heart. One thing we reminded ourselves throughout the process was to enjoy it and keep it fun. There is so much chaos (family opinions, endless decisions, deadlines, and coordination) that it can be easy to lose sight of what this season is really about. We also realized how gendered the wedding industry can be. So much of the planning is marketed toward brides, while grooms are often treated like they’re just along for the ride. For us, this was a celebration we were building together. We wanted both of our voices, ideas, and personalities reflected every step of the way. Whenever the stress started to creep in, we came back to the same reminder: we’re planning a marriage. Choosing to laugh, compromise, and enjoy the journey together became our anchor, and we’re so grateful we did.”
